Designed with children's privacy at the centre
Gold Stars handles children's feelings, school and family information. We treat that as sensitive, and we've built the product around a few firm principles.
Each family is isolated
Every family's data is stored separately and is never shared with other families.
Private by default
Sensitive information — like a child's mood journal or school results — defaults to private, and stays that way unless you choose to share it.
Explicit, revocable access
Adults only see what they've been given access to. You decide who can see which children, and you can change or remove that at any time.
Only what's needed
We collect the minimum needed to run the features you use. We don't collect photos of children, their contact details or location, and we don't track your family across other apps. (A parent may optionally upload a school report as a document; children can't upload photos.)
No ads or tracking on children
We never show advertising to children and never build advertising profiles. We do not sell personal data.
Safeguarding first
Where privacy and convenience conflict, we choose privacy. Parents and guardians hold the account and provide consent on behalf of their children.
